Dirt Cheap Web Designs - Quality For the Pocketbook Impaired
Professional website design and development "Dirt Cheap Web Designs" means "professional website design at a really affordable price".

Getting Started

When you sign a contract with Dirt Cheap Web Designs, I'll take you step-by-step through the design process. To give you a general idea of how it works, this page lists the steps we'll take from the initial quote to the completion of your website.

Of course, every client is different. For example, you might want to see a completed website before you purchase hosting. No problem! We can discuss your options as we go.

Step 1: Request a Quote
Browse this and other websites to get an idea of what you want to do with your new website. Think about what domain name you would like to use. Then fill out my Request a Quote form.

Step 2: Sign Your Contract and Purchase Hosting
After we discuss your needs and goals, I'll provide you with a price quote for your project along with a list of the items that will be included in the design. When you accept the proposal I'll send a contract in the mail. Read it over thoroughly - if you have any questions please don't hesitate to call or email me. Then sign and date it, make a copy for yourself, and send the original back to me along with your deposit. In the meantime I'll assist you with signing up for hosting and domain service.

Step 3: Send Your Website Material
Send your text, photos, audio, video and other material in electronic format. You can send it on CD through the mail or by email. For large files I can set up an FTP account for your convenience.

If you have only paper material, such as brochures or product catalogs, I will convert those materials into electronic format for you. This service is billed at my current hourly rate. (See Pricing) Video and audio editing services are also available at the same rate.

Step 4: Designing Your New Website
I create the layout and add the material you provided. All efforts are made to ensure accuracy. During this process I'll send you links so you can preview the work and make requests for changes. I value and respect your input every step of the way. Constructive cricism is welcome!

Step 5: Testing and Revisions
Contact forms and site functionality are tested and any final revisions are made.

Step 6: Design Complete!
Your new website is complete and I send an invoice for the final design payment. If you've already purchased hosting, I also submit your new website to several search engines.

To keep your website updated, simply email your requests along with any new material whenever you want me to make a change.

If you've opted for a Service Plan, it includes a specified number of hours per six month period that are reserved for maintaining and updating your website. Service Plan Invoices are sent every six months from the date of your contract.

If you don't have a Service Plan, you'll be billed at the time service is provided. You'll never receive an unexpected bill. I'll always discuss your options with you ahead of time.
