Very Cheap Web Design takes cheap websites one step further with no hourly service charge and no payment due until the website is completed. They'll even rebuild the entire site at no extra cost if you're unhappy with it.
Sound too good to be true? Maybe, maybe not. While Very Cheap Web Design's FAQ page is well written and informative, their Portfolio page is full of dead websites. Since the portfolio uses some broken javascript code, you have to copy and paste each sample website's URL into your browser's address bar, only to find out that none of the websites exist anymore. Just one domain name is still in existence at the time of this writing, jodymed.com, which simply points to a landing page for parked domains.
Aside from the portfolio problem, their website's coding, style and graphics are reminiscent of the internet's earlier days.
I'm eager to receive a response back from my email inquiry to this company. Very few designers offer the kind of price guarantee that Very Cheap Web Design is advertising, and it would be interesting to know if they're still doing business.
