Softwebs Nepal offers data entry and software development services in addition to website design. A lot of advertising space in both the left and right hand page columns of their website is dedicated to their pre-written scripts such as "Newsletter Pro", "Real Estate", "Link Exchange System", and "Chat Software". Most of these software packages seem to be in the $159 range (prices are in US dollars). Since Softwebs Nepal is trying so hard to sell these, I thought I'd check out the demos and, without launching into a full review on each one, my opinion is that you can find better written, more up-to-date scripts elsewhere on the web for free. However, the extremely fast reply I received in response to my email inquiry (less than 2 hours) leads me to believe that this company offers excellent customer service and, hopefully, support for their products.

Moving on to the actual website design services offered by Softwebs, I found their package descriptions to be confusing. I've commented on the list of features below, which is for the Basic Plan ($99):

* Free domain registration (value $9.99/yr).
* Free 2mb web space (value $10/yr).

2MB of web space? That won't even store one photo from a modern digital camera. Yes, photos can and should be optimized for the web to take up much less space, but considering that the average hard drive on the market today is 300 GB, this amount of web space seems ridiculously small.

* 20 photos or more, what ever space supports. No charge for photo scanning, we scan and deliver your photo to you free of cost (value $40/-).
* 50 pages free design or what ever space support. (value $100/-).

Again, this is way out of the ballpark, but for the opposite reason from the web space. Most designers (even cheap ones) charge around $50 per standard web page. Even at $10 per web page, this should be a $500 value. I wonder where they're getting their numbers?

* Free 24 hours, seven days a week unlimited support.
* Free search engine submission , we submit yahoo, google, altavista e.t.c (more than 5000 search engines) (value $100/-).

I would like a list of the 5,000 search engines they claim to submit to... LOL

* Free customized software like counter, from submitter e.t.c ( value $100 +/-) .
* Control panel for space management, we support C-panel for this. (value $99/mth).

Is that space management for the 2MB of hard drive space they give you? Also, Cpanel is a standard free offering from hosting providers.

* My status
* Unlimited free updates. (value $15+).
* Free unlimited email accounts.
* Free auto responder.
* Free mail forwarder.
* Free DNS and my sql accounts setting.

Again, autoresponders, mail forwarders, etc. are standard Cpanel features. MySQL settings? That would imply they're going to build a database driven website for $99... I suspect that Softwebs Nepal is building these "Basic Plan" websites via some type of content management software hosted on their server, and/or they are completely template-based designs.

* Total value $500+ but get this package at just $99/- or even less if you don't want all the features . So just email us the requirement we will send you price quotation.

In closing, if you decide that Softwebs is the right website design company for you, my best advice is to make sure you get everything in writing to avoid any confusion down the road.
